Latifu's Visa Refusal: FC Aktobe Pay Hodd Back In Their Own Coin
Published: July 24, 2013More facts have emerged over the refusal of the Kazakhstan embassy in Norway to issue visas to former Nigeria youth international Akeem Latifu and Hodd teammate Sivert H. Nilsen, the son of manager Lars Arne Nilsen.
It's football politics which was started by the Norwegians that has gone wrong. And the Kazakhstan team has paid Hodd back in their own coin.
For the first leg Europa League tie played at Høddvoll Stadion (Ulsteinvik) last week, the Norway embassy in Kazakhstan refused entry visas to two important players of FC Aktobe- Alexander Geynrikh and Timur Kapadz.
Hodd defeated Aktobe 1 - 0 in the first leg thanks to Espen Standal's goal after 28 minutes.
Despite that victory, Lars Arne Nilsen's troops have a mountain to climb on Thursday at the Central Stadium, Aktobe.
