EXCLUSIVE: Aaron Samuel Inks Three - Year Deal With Sarpsborg
Published: July 10, 2013Highly rated 19 - year - old striker Aaron Samuel has penned a three - year deal with Sarpsborg 08, arriving the team based in southeastern Norway from Tippeligaen rivals Vålerenga.
The deal was brokered by influential Norwegian - Nigerian agent Atta Aneke, who has introduced so many Nigerian youngsters to Scandinavian clubs.
''Aaron has signed a three - year contract with Sarpsborg. It is a good move for him and the club as the coach Brian Deane believes in his qualities.
''To enhance his development, he has to join a club where he'll play on a regular basis. He will bring something new to Sarpsborg.
''He will play with the number 99 jersey and that number was chosen because he has to work double hard in his duties as a striker,'' says Atta Aneke to allnigeriasoccer.com.
Aaron Samuel, former Shooting Stars ace, was over the moon after signing the contract, which ended his one - year collaboration with Vålerenga.
He told allnigeriasoccer.com: ''I left Vif not that everything was not going well. But Sarpsborg 08 showed they wanted me so badly and loved me with passion.
''In return I promise to deliver on the pitch, since they already know me here in Norway.''
The teenager is in good physical condition and could even make his debut this weekend against Ohi Omoijuanfo's Lillestrom in the 16th round of matches in the Norwegian championship.
