'He has a big salary' - Ex-Spartak defender hits out at Victor Moses over work ethic
Published: February 25, 2024Former Spartak Moscow defender Eduard Mor did not hold back as he reacted to reports Victor Moses will be leaving Spartak Moscow at the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Ten days ago, Moses's agentcy confirmed that the retired Nigeria international would be leaving the Red and Whites as a free agent upon the expiry of his contract in the summer.
There were indications that the former Chelsea wing-back was surplus to requirements ahead of next season as he has been a bit part player at Spartak Moscow since Ocober despite being in good physical condition.
Mor slammed Moses, alleging that despite being one of the highest earners at Spartak Moscow, the Nigerian's work ethic is questionable.
"Moses is potentially the best player in Spartak and, perhaps, in our entire championship, and when he is motivated, for example in European competitions, he is absolutely fine," he told RB Sport.
"But in the last year, especially after the injury, Moses has not been particularly stressed.
"He has a big salary, and for such a salary you can call another top player. In general, it’s very bad to have a player on the team who doesn’t work hard.
"Especially if he's fine. This is all transmitted like a chain reaction, everyone takes an example from this master. And Moses, with all due respect to him, has not had any super desires lately."
Moses has made 78 appearances for Spartak Moscow, in which he registered ten goals and ten assists.
