Lillestrom receive offer from Belgian club for former Flying Eagles striker
Published: June 30, 2023Norwegian Eliteserien club Lillestrom have received an offer from a Belgian club for former Nigeria U20 international Akor Adams.
According to TV2, the first official bid for LSK's top scorer Akor Adams arrived at Åråsen on Thursday but the identity of the Belgian club has not been disclosed.
The offer from the Belgian club did not meet Lillestrom's valuation of Adams and the Canaries expect more teams to firm up their interest in the 23-year-old in the future.
In recent seasons, Belgian clubs have snapped up Nigerian youngsters from Scandinavian football including Gift Orban, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Antonio Nusa, Ishaq Abdulrazak and Alhassan Yusuf.
Adams has put himself in the shop window on the back of the outstanding season he's having at Lillestrom, with ten goals in ten appearances in the Norwegian top-flight, a tally bettered only by Bodo/Glimt's Amahl Pellegrino.
In addition, Adams bagged a brace as Lillestrom were beaten by Ullensaker/Kisa in the Norwegian Cup in June.
The onetime Sogndal IL star has been scouted by German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen but nothing is concrete at the moment.
Adams' former Flying Eagles teammate, Igoh Ogbu is the most expensive player sold by Lillestrom with the defender joining Slavia Prague in the winter transfer market for a fee of 2.5 million euros.
