Celtic's Efe Ambrose Ruled Out Of Kenya Match
Published: March 15, 2013Glasgow Celtic's utility player Efe Ambrose has picked up two yellow card cautions - against Namibia and Malawi - which has ruled him out of next weekend's crucial World Cup qualifier against Kenya in Calabar.
The Nigeria Federation stated in a press release that Ambrose will be logically unavailable for selection against the Harambee Stars.
''Scotland-based defender Efe Ambrose will not be part of the contingent (against Kenya) as he is on suspension as a result of accumulated yellow cards from previous World Cup qualifying matches.
''Ambrose got a yellow card against Namibia in Calabar in June last year and was also yellow-carded in the game away to Malawi in Blantyre same month,'' the press release from the Nigeria Federation stated.
It is widely expected that Coach Stephen Keshi will choose to deploy a central defender to man Ambrose's right full back position.
