JOEL OBI In A Race Against Time To Be Fit For South Africa
Published: December 15, 2012Inter Milan youngster Joel Obi is in a race against the clock to be fit for the African Cup of Nations.
Ahead of The Nerazzurri clash with Lazio on Saturday, coach Andrea Stramaccioni addressed the media. According to Stramaccioni, Obi is unavailable to face the capital side as he is undergoing rehabilitation from an injury.
Assuming there are no complications, Obi will return to the pitch in early January. Nevertheless, Nigeria gaffer Stephen Keshi is expected to name the former NEPA Lagos youth - teamer in his preliminary squad for the Afcon.
Obi's only game in the Italian championship this campaign was against Catania in October.
