Exclusive: IK Start Propose New Two - Year Deal For OLUFEMI OLADAPO
Published: July 14, 2012
After 12 matches played in Norway's second - tier, IK Start currently top the table with 25 points.
Nigerian midfielder and Canada 2007 Fifa Under 20 World Cup star Femi Oladapo, who runs out of contract at the end of the 2012 season, is hoping Start can keep the momentum, and be promoted to the Tippaligaen when the final matches in the league are played in November.
''It was a hard decision I made to remain with IK Start when they were relegated. I wanted to finish my contract with the club, and also help them return to the top division. I pray we come back to where we belong at the end of the season,'' says Oladapo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The midfield enforcer added: ''The club have proposed a new two - year contract, with some conditions. It's only if they get promoted I would be able to extend my stay. As things stand, I don't know if I would accept the new deal. Every footballer wants to play top level football. There are clubs in Belgium and Turkey that are interested in my signature.''
So far, Oladapo has suited 5 times for IK Start in the league. The 23-year-old is a candidate to start at left back in Sunday's match with Alta at the Sør Arena, Kristiansand.
