Rubin Kazan Block MARTINS From West Brom
Published: July 06, 2012Rubin Kazan have turned down inquiries from West Brom for the Nigeria international forward Obafemi Martins, according to the Daily Mail, United Kingdom.
Martins wants a return to England to be closer to his family. The Russian club have blocked the proposed move preferring a permanent switch instead of a loan deal.
The 27-year-old forward, who is available for a transfer fee of between four - five million euros, has failed to settle in Russia since his move from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2010. It would be recalled that last season Martins managed only three goals in all competitions for the Russia Cup winners.
There is also interest from outside Europe for the former FC Ebedei whiz-kid. Chinese Super League clubs Tianjin Teda FC and Qingdao Chzhunnen have reportedly started negotiations with Martins and his entourage. But Martins's favored destination is either Italy or England.
