Exclusive: STEPHEN WORGU Serves Quit Notice To Al-Merrikh
Al-Merrikh forward Stephen Worgu will not be renewing his contract with the Sudanese club when it expires at the end of the season, the 22-year-old has told allnigeriasoccer.com.

The Olympic National Team player had signed a mouth watering four-year deal with Al-Merrikh in October, 2008, moving from Nigeria's heavyweights Enyimba.

''My contract runs out at the end of the year, and I have refused to renew my contract because I need to move on. I never thought I will spend so much time in Sudan. I could have left Al-Merrikh a long time ago but couldn't due to the transfer fees my club demanded from interested suitors over the years. And you won't fault them because they paid so much to buy me from Enyimba. I should have left for Europe a long time ago,'' Worgu told allnigeriasoccer.com in an electronic chat.

Worgu's next destination is a closely guarded secret. However, he has admitted he is not lacking suitors, perhaps from outside Africa.

'' I hope to leave Sudan at the end of the year. Some clubs have made enquiries for my services. I want to keep the names of these clubs a secret for now. At the appropriate time, I will reveal the name of the club I am heading to.

''I can only say I would be joining a club in a developing league, not an established league,'' Worgu added.
