New Sensation DERICK OGBU Happy To Be Back, And With A Bang!
Published: July 01, 2012Oud-Heverlee Leuven's Derick Chuka Ogbu scored 10 goals in his debut season in Belgium.
Under contract with OHL until the end of the 2012 - 2013 season, some of Europe's elite clubs have taken notice of his fine form, and have made enquiries about his services in this summer's transfer market.
Had it not been for the muscle injury Ogbu picked up in the last two months of the championship, the highly rated youngster could have added to his ten - goal haul.
''I am happy to be back from injury, after close to three months without a game. We played a friendly game(with KHO Stade Bierbeek, ed) on Saturday and I scored two goals. I am now in Holland with my club preparing for the resumption of the season, as our first game is against Mons towards the end of the month,'' said Ogbu to allnigeriasoccer.com.
The former Enugu Rangers youth-teamer added: ''I heard from my agent that a Spanish club have joined other teams interested in signing me. This month is crucial for my career as my future will be decided in the coming weeks.''
Ogbu is on the shopping list of clubs in Italy, Germany, Belgium and Holland in the summer transfer market.
