Published: June 16, 2012
Nigeria Premier League highest goalscorer and Niger Tornadoes attacker Sibi Gwar has played down reports linking him with a summer switch to clubs in Belgium, Portugal and Turkey, insisting his primary concern is to help his side avoid the drop.
Gwar told allnigeriasoccer.com in a telephone conversation: '' Right now, I don't want any distraction until the end of the season. I want to concentrate on helping Niger Tornadoes survive relegation.
''Against Heartland on Sunday, we are targeting three points to increase our points total, and improve our standings on the table.''
There is concrete interest for the 24-year-old from KAA Gent, Belenenses and Samsunspor in the summer transfer market.
Gwar netted his 14th goal of the season on Wednesday against Kano Pillars in the 31st round of matches in the Nigeria Premier League.
