Liverpool extend Mohamed Salah's contract amid strange links with Ademola Lookman

Mohamed Salah has ended speculation about his future by signing a new deal with Premier League champions-in-waiting, Liverpool.

The Reds announced through the official website on Friday morning that the Egypt international has put pen to paper on a new deal.

Although Liverpool have not disclosed the length of the deal, Salah has given the impression that it is for two years, stating that he is hoping to play for the club for a decade.

The former FC Basel and Chelsea man joined Liverpool in 2017 and has 243 goals in 394 appearances.

The renewal of Salah's Liverpool contract has effectively shut down the dramatic rumours that reigning African Footballer of the Year, Ademola Lookman was being lined up to take his place at Anfield.

With Lookman likely to leave Atalanta this summer, his homegrown status and previous Premier League stint have made him an appealing target for several clubs in England.

The 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup winner with England is just four games away from reaching the milestone of 100 Premier League appearances, having previously played for Everton, Fulham and Leicester City.

Lookman has flourished since joining Atalanta, where he has scored 50 goals and provided 22 assists in 112 appearances across all competitions.

The Nigeria national teamer has also been linked with possible moves to clubs in Serie A, Ligue 1 and La Liga ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.
