Galatasaray under scrutiny: Potential transfer of Osimhen for N124.4b raises bankruptcy warnings

Amid increasing off-field distractions, Galatasaray is finding its focus on the pitch challenged.

Recent developments surrounding the potential transfer of Victor Osimhen have sparked controversy, particularly concerning the large transfer fee reportedly set at 75 million euros ( approximately N124.4 billion in Nigerian currency).

MHP Deputy Saffet Sancaklı recently raised concerns, stating that paying such a hefty fee for Osimhen could lead to financial troubles for the club, even warning that it could drive Galatasaray into bankruptcy.

He also indicated that state sponsors are closely monitoring the club’s actions and urged caution in dealing with such a significant financial commitment.

In response to these statements, sports commentator Serdar Ali Çelikler shared his perspective during a recent appearance on the Neo Spor YouTube channel.

As reported by habersarikirmizi.com, Çelikler addressed the notion that the Turkish state might intervene or oppose Galatasaray’s decisions in this matter.

He expressed confidence that the government would not take action against the club, suggesting that such a move was unlikely.

Çelikler also praised Galatasaray’s management, particularly President Dursun Özbek, for their careful and intelligent approach to the current situation.

He noted that the management team has been cautious and strategic, ensuring they avoid making any significant missteps while under public scrutiny.

Furthermore, Çelikler implied that Sancaklı’s remarks were more than just a warning; he believed they served as a signal aimed at specific parties, perhaps to draw attention to potential concerns behind the scenes.
