Nigerian agent to hold talks with Arsenal over new long-term deal for Bukayo Saka
Published: March 31, 2025
Arsenal are set to hold talks with Bukayo Saka's representative over a new long-term deal, according to transfer market guru Fabrizio Romano.
The cap-tied England international, who was born in London to Nigerian parents, is looked after by Nigerian agent Emeka Obasi's Elite Project Group.
Emeka also handles the affairs of Super Eagles stars Joe Aribo, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Terem Moffi and Josh Maja, and brokered the deal that took reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman from Everton to RB Leipzig.
Romano has revealed that discussions for Saka's new long-term contract are set to begin soon, with Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta leading negotiations, despite the attacker being under contract until 2027.
The Gunner's goal is to keep the homegrown player at the club for many more years.
After signing his last contract extension in May 2023, Saka could soon be in line for another salary increase.
Saka's comeback from injury is imminent, with manager Mikel Arteta telling reporters at Monday's pre-match press conference that the forward is 'ready to go' ahead of Tuesday's Premier League meeting with Fulham.
One of Arsenal's best players alongside Martin Odegaard, Saka suffered a muscle injury on December 21 in a match against Crystal Palace and was expected to recover in early April.
Despite missing three months of action, Saka has scored nine goals in all competitions this season, making him Arsenal’s second-top scorer behind the injured Kai Havertz, who leads with fifteen.
