Italy squads announcement: Burnley and Blackburn players among seven Nigerians called up

Ahead of international matches this month, the Italian Football Federation has announced the squads for the national teams, with seven Nigeria-eligible players making the cut.
At U21 level, quad-national Burnley forward Luca Koleosho, who is also eligible for United States and Canada, is among twenty-six players called up for the friendlies against the Netherlands and Denmark.
On Friday, March 21, in Venice and Monday, March 24, in Cittadella, the U21s will face the Netherlands and Denmark, respectively—two important tests for Carmine Nunziata's squad.
Verona's Richi Agbonifo and Monza's Kevin Zeroli have been instructed to report for international duty at the 'Giulio Onesti' Olympic Training Centre in Rome on the evening of Sunday, March 16 before Italy's match against Turkey.
Agbonifo and Zeroli amd scheduled to leave for Turkey on Tuesday, with the match to be played at the Pendik Stadium in Istanbul.
Genoa forward Jeff Ekhator has been included in Italy's U19 squad for the Elite Round of qualification for the final phase of the European Championship.
Italy will face Latvia in their opening match in Crotone on Wednesday, March 19 before challenging the two finalists of the Euro 2024, Spain (Saturday 22nd) and France (Tuesday 25th), in Catanzaro.
Atalanta defender Osarumwense Idele is part of Italy U18s squad for the double header against Belgium, scheduled for Friday, March 21 and Monday, March 24, both at the Proximus Basecamp in Tubize.
At U17 level, Juventus forward Destiny Onoguekhan Elimoghale and Blackburn Rovers defender Silver Obinna Eze have been called up for a training camp in Novarello, in preparation for the second round of League A of the European qualifiers, scheduled from 19 to 25 March in Croatia.
At the end of the friendly match against AC Milan on Saturday afternoon, the list of 20 selected players who will take part in the second phase of qualification for the European Championship will be announced.
