Most goal contributions per minute: Osimhen topping the Super Lig charts after wonder goal
Published: October 19, 2024Victor Osimhen came off the bench to score a wonder goal for Galatasaray in their 3-0 win over Antalyaspor on matchday nine of the Süper Lig on Saturday evening at the Corendon Airlines Park.
Mauro Icardi opened the scoring in the 10th minute, heading Dries Mertens corner kick home and was also responsible for the second goal of the game.
Seven minutes after the restart of the second half, Yunus Akgun teed up the Argentine striker, who calmly dispatched the ball home to register his fourth league goal of the season.
Okan Buruk brought on Osimhen in the 78th minute, replacing Akgun, and it took just two minutes for the Nigerian striker to get himself on the scoresheet.
Hakim Ziyech delivered a free-kick into the area, and Roland Sallai netted the ball towards the 25-year-old who overpowered his marker before producing a powerful overhead kick to put the ball into the net.
According to statisticians at Opta, Osimhen has become the player with the most goal contributions per minute of all the players to have played at least 200 minutes in the Turkish top flight in this campaign.
The reigning African Footballer of the Year has directly participated in five goals (3 goals, 2 assists) in four games, contributing to a goal every 47 minutes.
