After Osimhen's loan move to Turkey, another Super Lig club interested in Galatasaray alum Onyekuru
Published: September 06, 2024After Victor Osimhen's season-long loan move to Turkey, another Süper Lig club are interested in his international teammate Henry Onyekuru, who enjoyed three different spells at Istanbul giants Galatasaray.
According to Milliyet via Sabah Spor, Eyüpspor are interested in snapping up the Super Eagles forward from Saudi Pro-League side Al Fayha.
The report stated that contact had already been made with the 27-year-old over the possibility of a return to the Süper Lig.
Onyekuru's contract with Al Fayha ends next summer, and he is currently valued at €4.5m, which Eyüpspor may have to pay or negotiate a discount if they are to snap him up before the end of the transfer window.
The Nigerian forward hasn't featured in any game since the start of the season as it appears that he is still nursing an injury which kept him out of the last seven games in the Saudi Pro-League last term.
Eyüpspor just gained promotion to the Turkish top flight for the first time in the club's history and have taken the league by storm, picking up eight points from their opening four games.
Led by former Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan, the club are seeking to acquire more experienced players into their ranks before the closure of the Turkish transfer window, hence their interest in Onyekuru.
Onyekuru has made 83 appearances in the Süper Lig, scoring 28 goals and providing 14 assists.
