'Definitely' - Smith Rowe credits former Arsenal teammates Iwobi and Leno for helping him settle at Fulham

England international Emile Smith Rowe has revealed that Alex Iwobi and Bernd Leno are among the players who have helped him settle at Fulham following his transfer from Arsenal.

The midfielder's move to Fulham for a reported fee of £27 million made him the second most expensive Hale End Academy product sold by Arsenal, after Super Eagles playmaker Iwobi

Iwobi remains Hale End Academy's most expensive graduate after his transfer to Everton in 2019 for a deal worth £35 million, which included a guaranteed fee of £28 million plus up to £7 million in additional fees.

Smith Rowe made an immediate impact at Fulham, scoring his first goal for the club less than seven minutes into his debut against Sevilla on Monday.

The former Arsenal midfielder found the back of the net with a header following a cross from Antonee Robinson.

Speaking to HaytersTV, Smith Rowe remarked, "Yeah, I think a little bit of a bittersweet moment. But yeah, happy obviously to score my first goal.

"I think that's actually my first professional header [goal] to be honest. So obviously nice to get the goal, but a little bit upset with the result."

When asked about the support from Iwobi and Leno in helping him settle at Fulham, Smith Rowe said, "Yeah definitely you know. Obviously not just them, everyone has helped me settle in.

"Everyone is so nice and genuine and I am really happy to be around everyone. It is really a family club."

Iwobi and Smith Rowe played three games together during their time at Arsenal, against Brentford, Qarabag  FK and Sporting CP.
