Official: Danish club say goodbye to three Nigerian players Ugboh, Moses and Kehinde
Published: June 30, 2024
Through official channels, Danish 3. Division club Holstebro Boldklub have announced that they have ended their association with three Nigerian players following the expiration of their contracts.
The Nigerian players are goalkeeper Mark Ugboh, midfield creator Obule Moses and defender Gabriel Kehinde Victor.
Ugboh and Moses have returned to their parent club FC Midtjylland, while Kehinde is now a free agent.
The aforementioned players are products of Nigerian grassroots club FC Ebedei, owned by the elder brother of former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh.
Ugboh made decisive saves on several occasions last season and was credited with an assist.
Moses is returning to FC Midtjylland after spending six months at Holstebro Boldklub, and showed that he was better than most players in the 3. Division on the best of days.
Kehinde suffered a minor injury shortly after his arrival at Holstebro Boldklub, but got better and better with every game he played after returning from injury, which isn’t insignificant when fighting to stay in the division.
Of the three Nigerian players, only Ugboh has been called up for a first team game at Superliga side Midtjylland.
The goalkeeper was named in nineteen matchday squads for official games ,comprising eight in the Europa League, four in the Champions League qualifiers, two in the Europa Conference League qualifiers, four in the Superliga and was also an unused substitute in the Danish Cup.
