Official: Brentford offer new deal to Arsenal youth product Daniel Oyegoke
Published: June 06, 2024With a statement on their official website, the Premier League has confirmed the list of players top-flight clubs will be keeping in their squads for the 2024-2025 season.
Brentford are keen to retain the services of Arsenal youth product of Nigerian descent Daniel Oyegoke, with the Bees offering him a new contract.
Although the exciting fullback has yet to make his senior debut for Brentford, he has received two first team call-ups, against Stoke City in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup and Everton in the FA Cup back in the 2021-2022 season.
Since his arrival from Arsenal in the summer of 2021, Oyegoke has taken in loan spells at Milton Keynes Dons and Bradford City to get a taste of first team football, making 46 appearances combined for both teams.
The talented defender was a member of the England squad that won the 2022 European U19 Championship and went on to represent the Young Lions at the Fifa U20 World Cup a year later.
Oyegoke has likened himself to Manchester City star Kyle Walker and has cited Cristiano Ronaldo as his footballing idol.
Valentino Adedokun, Michael Olakigbe, Frank Onyeka and Kevin Schade are under contract with Brentford and have all been retained for the 2024-2025 season.
Nigeria U20 international Benjamin Fredrick has joined the Bees on a permanent deal, signing a four-year contract with the club having the option of an extra year.
