Super Eagles duo Onuachu, Osayi-Samuel named in Turkish Super Lig Team of the Season
Published: May 28, 2024Southampton loanee Paul Onuachu and Fenerbahçe right back Bright Osayi-Samuel have been named in Whoscored.com's Turkish Süper Lig's Team of the Season following the conclusion of the campaign last weekend.
The Super Eagles duo have been named alongside Victor Osimhen's former teammate Dries Mertens, two-time Serie A top scorer Mauro Icardi and seven others.
Onuachu was in brilliant form for Trabzonspor, helping the club to a third place finish, scoring 15 goals in 21 matches, the joint most that has been scored for the Black Sea Storm in the last four seasons.
With a rating of 7.43, the lanky striker is second most rated player in the side with only Icardi getting a higher score, having finished the season as the league's top scorer.
Similarly, Osayi-Samuel also played a vital role for Fenerbahçe who finished second, featuring in 23 games across the campaign and failing to start just two games when he was named in the matchday squad.
The 26-year-old scored four goals and provided two assists, the most he has registered for the Yellow Canaries and earned a 6.90 rating.
League champions Galatasaray and runner-up Fenerbahçe have the most representatives in the side with five players apiece while Trabzonspor had one.
