2024 Super Eagles invitee Gabriel Osho doubtful to return to action on Saturday against Man City
Published: April 12, 20242024 Super Eagles invitee Gabriel Osho is doubtful to return to action on Saturday when Luton Town face off with Manchester City in a Premier League match at the Etihad Stadium.
Osho has not featured for the Hatters since he came off injured in the closing minutes of the Hatters 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace before the March internationals.
Since then, the Nigerian central defender has missed five games in a row in the Premier League.
It was thought he would be fit after the international break last month but his rehabilitation has not gone according to plan.
Luton Town have been hit hard by an injury crisis ahead of their trip to the Etihad Stadium, with manager Rob Edwards revealing that he could be without a recognized center half against the reigning Premier League champions.
Seven central defenders including Osho, Reece Burke and Teden Mengi had not trained this week, putting their participation in doubt.
"We’ve got seven centre halves at this club and not one has trained this week," Edwards was quoted as saying by Luton's official website.
Osho has struggled with knee problems since the back end of last season and as a result, he was unable to make his Premier League debut until October 29, 2023.
He has proved he has the quality to play in the Premier League when in tiptop condition with two goals in sixteen appearances prior to his spell on the sidelines.
