Super Falcons camp update: Full house as Africa's best Oshoala finally lands in Abuja
Published: April 04, 2024
Ahead of their clash against South Africa in the final round of the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifiers tomorrow, the Super Falcons' camp have been boosted by the arrival of former Liverpool and Barcelona Femení forward Asisat Oshoala.
The arrival of the reigning African Women's Player of the Year was confirmed on the official X account of the Super Falcons on Thursday morning.
While she hasn't been at her best, her presence on the field would still worry any defence and that could also prove to be a psychological boost for the team.
The arrival of the duo of Esther Okoronkwo and Chinwendu Ihezuo have also been confirmed which means all players invited for the crucial two-legged tie are now in camp.
Okoronkwo scored the only goal against Cameroon which booked Nigeria a place in the final qualification round and is another attacking threat for Randy Waldrum's ladies.
Ihezuo on the other hand stages a big return to the side with her last notable appearance being in last year's Revelation Cup, held in Mexico.
Nigeria will be seeking to gain an advantage over South Africa in tomorrow's tie at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja ahead of the return leg next Tuesday.
