Confirmed team news: Luton could be without 13 players against Arsenal, including three Nigerians

Luton Town boss Rob Edwards has suggested that the increasing number of injuries within his squad is bound to once again impact the lineup for Wednesday's Premier League match against title contenders Arsenal. 

The Hatters are facing an injury crisis at the moment with almost half of the squad in the treatment room, including three players of Nigerian descent Elijah Adebayo, Gabriel Osho and Chiedozie Ogbene.

Super Eagles hopeful Adebayo and Lagos-born Republic of Ireland international Ogbene are both recovering from thigh injuries.

Central defender Osho is currently being assessed after suffering a knee injury during the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace - an injury that saw him withdraw from the Nigeria squad for the friendlies with Ghana and Mali.

Luton Town's official website has suggested that none of the players who are currently injured will return for this game.

Edwards is likely to hand call-ups to some academy players in order to make up the numbers for tomorrow's clash at the Emirates Stadium.

Speaking at Tuesday's pre-match press conference before the visit to the English capital, Edwards said: "We’re likely to have 11, 12 or 13 players out. We’ll probably have four teenagers on the bench – maybe more.

"This is the biggest challenge we’ve ever had. Of course we had the incident with Locks, but in terms of facing the best teams in the world in this period of injuries, it is."

Lagos-born winger Fred Onyedinma came through his Premier League debut unscathed and expected to be named in the matchday squad against Arsenal.
