After Super Eagles duo Onyeka and Onyedika, FC Midtjylland sign another midfielder from FC Ebedei
Published: April 02, 2024With a statement on their official website, Danish Superliga club FC Midtjylland have announced that they have signed a midfielder from their Nigerian partners, FC Ebedei.
After Super Eagles midfielders Frank Onyeka and Raphael Onyedika, and most recently Jamiu Musbaudeen, who all made the trip to FC Midtjylland from FC Ebedei, James Inyere Arinze has made the step up to FC Midtjylland, where he will initially start with the U19 team.
Arinze was actually a striker when he joined FC Ebedei two years ago but was converted into a central midfielder after the grassroots club quickly saw things in his game.
Nevertheless, Arinze stands out by having his strengths in the offensive part of the game.
He is delighted to start his career in Europe with FC Midtjylland, who have in the youth team ranks young Nigerian players Isa Musa, Obule Sunday Moses, Mark Ugboh and Stanley Iheanacho.
One of Arinze's goals in the future is to play in the English Premier League like fellow FC Ebedei products Obafemi Martins, Frank Onyeka and Paul Onuachu.
"It means a lot to me, and it has been a goal since I was very small. Now it's about working even harder so I can achieve more of my goals," says James Arinze.
"My biggest dream is to end up in the Premier League, but before then I know that there are many steps that need to be taken.
"I know the boys from Ebedei; Isa Musa, Obule Sunday Moses and Mark Ugboh (the latter two are currently on loan, ed.).
"The boys can help me and give me good advice on how to deal with the cold and other cultural differences, for example."
Arinze is ready to start training with FC Midtjylland U19 squad, who have just returned from the United States after taking part in the international training tournament, the Dallas Cup.
