Ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe next month, there were some standout performances from Super Eagles players in league matches on Sunday, October 22.
Fenerbahce continued their perfect start to the 2023-2024 season with a 4-2 win over Fisayo Dele-Bashiru's Hatayspor at the Ülker Stadyumu FB Şükrü Saraçoğlu Spor Kompleksi.
In his first appearance after international duty with the Super Eagles, Bright Osayi-Samuel doubled the Yellow Canaries advantage in the 15th minute with an unstoppable left-footed half volley from inside the box.
The Blackpool academy product has directly participated in five goals in 13 all-competition appearances this term.
Elsewhere, Ademola Lookman put in a fine display for Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium on matchday nine in the Italian Serie A, helping the Nerazzurri beat Genoa 2-0.
Two days after his 26th birthday, the former Everton man gave himself a belated birthday gift by netting his third goal of the season.
Lookman managed to prod the ball into the net while on the ground and the goal was initially disallowed for a potential handball, but stood after a VAR review.
In the Danish Superliga, Stephen Odey netted his third of the season as Randers and Brondby shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw at the Cepheus Park Randers
Just before the hour mark, the former Mountain of Fire striker finished off a counter attacking move after he was played in by
Simen Bolkan Nordli to put Randers 2-1 up.
