Peseiro gets Ola Aina boost ahead of squad announcement for 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro has gotten a boost ahead of his squad announcement for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with versatile Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina recovering from injury.
The Portuguese football tactician, through the Nigeria Football Federation, must inform the players provisionally selected for the showdown against Lesotho and Zimbabwe before the month runs out.
Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has announced his gameday squad for Saturday afternoon's Premier League meeting with Luton Town at the City Ground.
Aina is fit enough to be included in the matchday 20 but starts on the bench, having recovered from a muscle-related injury that kept him sidelined for approximately one month.
The Chelsea academy product was named on the Nigeria roster for their October internationals with Saudi Arabia and Mozambique but had to pull out of the squad due to the injury.
With Aina unavailable for selection, Peseiro utilized Empoli's Tyronne Ebuehi and Fenerbahce's Bright Osayi-Samuel in the right-back role during the friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
Aina was recognized for his outstanding performances in September with Forest supporters voting him as the club's Player of the Month.
Meanwhile, his international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi is out with a groin problem but the striker should return to team training as from next week.
