Peseiro insists Enyimba GK must join Super Eagles squad in Portugal ahead of Mozambique friendly
Published: October 14, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that manager Jose Peseiro has insisted that Enyimba goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo must link up with the Super Eagles squad before their next friendly against Mozambique.
The Portuguese football tactician wants to work with four goalkeepers ahead of Monday's clash at the Estádio Municipal de Albufeira (Albufeira).
The arrival of Hapoel Jerusalem star Adebayo Adeleye on Friday brought the number of goalkeepers in camp to three.
Although Adeleye was named in the gameday squad, his chances of playing against Saudi Arabia were zero as he did not train with the team before the friendly coupled with jet lag.
Olorunleke Ojo was issued with a visa on Wednesday and traveled via Royal Air Maroc from Lagos on Friday morning.
Peseiro wants to take another look at Ojo at the training camp in Faro before next month's 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Just like Francis Uzoho and Maduka Okoye, Ojo is also lacking match fitness as he has been inactive for Enyimba since August 27 when he started against Al-Ahli Benghazi in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
