2023 AFCON draw in full as three-time champions Nigeria discover group stage opponents

Nigeria have been drawn in Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the draw ceremony held on Thursday evening.
The Super Eagles have been grouped alongside host nation and two-time champions, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau whom they faced in the qualification phase for the tournament and Equatorial Guinea.
Nigeria qualified for the tournament by finishing first in Group A of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, having earned 15 points from a possible 18.
The 2023 Africa Cup of Nations will be the 34th edition of the tournament with the first edition being held in 1957 and Nigeria have featured twenty times
They have won the tournament on three occasions with their last triumph being in 2013 under late Stephen Keshi.
José Peseiro will be hoping to follow the footsteps of Otto Glória and Clemens Westerhof to become the third foreign coach to win the AFCON for the Super Eagles.
The competition will kick start on January 13, 2024 and will come to a close on February 11.
