'Has become himself again' - French Ligue 1 expert lauds Nantes winger Moses Simon
Published: October 08, 2023
French Ligue 1 expert Pierre Ménès has praised Super Eagles winger Moses Simon for his brilliant start to the season.
Simon has been in scintillating form for Nantes since the start of this campaign, notching two goals and four assists after 8 games played in the Ligue 1.
This is in contrast with his form from last season, where he was out off form in the latter part of the campaign, recording just one goal contribution in his last 14 league games in 2022-2023.
Ménès has been impressed with the quick turnaround in the form of the Nigeria international and believes he is back to his best.
In quotes relayed by butfootballclub, Ménès said: "It was a very, very good team from Nantes! It's been a long time since I've seen the Canaries offer such coherent, attractive play with a player, Moses Simon, who experienced a terrible eclipse last year but who has become himself again. Who is perhaps even the best version of himself this season."
With six-goal contributions already, the 28-year-old is on the verge of equaling his nine-goal involvements from last season.
Simon is running into the final months of his contract with Nantes and it will be interesting to see if his brilliant start to the season will earn him a contract extension with the French side.
