Published: August 25, 2023
French Ligue 1 leading scorer after two matches in the new season, Akor Adams has revealed that he is targeting a call-up to the Super Eagles and as well as helping Montpellier finish in Champions League places at the end of the season.
The former Flying Eagles forward has started his Montpellier career excellently, scoring three goals in 2 appearances.
He netted a brace against Le Havre on matchday one of the Ligue 1 and thereby set the record for the fastest brace scored by a debutant in the French topflight.
Adams also scored a goal in Montpellier's 4-1 win over Lyon last weekend at the Groupama Stadium.
The 23-year-old has revealed that it is his ambition to help Montpellier qualify for the Champions League next season and also get called up to the national team.
"I will work hard and do my best to progress every week, in order to be able to play in the Champions League but also play in the national team and compete in the World Cup.
"For now, I have to give everything for Montpellier," Adams said to Midi Libre, via Allez Paillade.
Adams will be hoping to continue his stellar form this weekend when Montpellier host Stade de Reims on matchday three of the Ligue 1 at the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98.
