Napoli reject Al Hilal's African record N111.3b bid for Osimhen
Published: July 30, 2023Napoli have rejected Al Hilal's bid for their star striker Victor Osimhen.
A report emanating from il Mattino reveals that the Serie A defending champions have turned down the 130 million euro (equating to N111.3 billion in Nigerian currency) bid from the Saudi Pro League side which is the most that has been offered for an African player.
Having failed to lure PSG forward Kylian Mbappe, Al Hilal have set their sights on the Super Eagles forward who was in devastating form last season.
In a bid to strengthen their side, the Saudi Arabia-based club want to add the services of the Super Eagles player to their ranks having already secured the signature of Kalidou Koulibaly, Rúben Neves and Sergej Milinković-Savić from the top five leagues in Europe.
Napoli's response is unsurprising as they are demanding more than 150 million euro from any club that wants to lure the prolific striker away from Naples.
The Partenopei are also close to reaching an agreement with the Nigerian striker regarding his contract extension.
Napoli will kickstart the defence of their title with an away trip to Stadio Benito Stirpe to face newly promoted Frosinone and they will be hoping to count on the services of the super forward for the new season.
