Ex-Spurs, West Ham & Crystal Palace schoolboys named in Sierra Leone travelling squad v Nigeria

Sierra Leone have named a 25-man travelling squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles in Monrovia.
As confirmed on Sierra Leone Football Association's Twitter handle, Leone Stars head coach John Keister has included 14 home-based players and 11 foreign-based players in his provisional squad to face Nigeria.
Headlining the list is former Tottenham Hotspur schoolboy Steven Caulker who is the captain of the side and has been with them since 2021 after switching allegiance from England to Sierra Leone.
Another name familiar with fans of English football included in the travelling squad is Idris Kanu who was a schoolboy at West Ham United before moving on to pastures new.
Former Crystal Palace U16 midfielder Kamil Conteh is set to add to his international caps against the Super Eagles having been named to the roster.
Sierra Leone are at risk of missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations as they sit third in Group A with 5 points and will have to get maximum points against Nigeria to keep alive their hopes of qualifying for the 2023 AFCON.
The encounter is billed to take place on Sunday 18th June, at the Kanyon Doe Stadium, Monrovia in Liberia
