Eintracht coach identifies 3 attributes of Osimhen that make him one of the top 5 strikers in Europe
Published: February 20, 2023Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg against SSC Napoli, Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner identified three attributes of Victor Osimhen that make him one of the top five strikers in Europe at the moment.
Glasner is statistically correct given that only Manchester City's Norwegian goal machine Erling Haaland (26) has scored more goals than Osimhen (18) in the top 5 European Leagues this season.
The Nigeria international is arguably the hottest prospect ahead of the reopening of the transfer window, with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain credited with an interest in signing the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner.
Glasner acknowledged that Osimhen has pace to burn, good in hold-up play and offers physicality.
When asked to compare Eintracht Frankfurt's France World Cup star Randal Kolo Muani and Osimhen, Glasner responded :"Both have exceptional pace. Osimhen is a tad more robust.
"Randal plays off the shoulder more often, whereas Osimhen is more of a hold-up player who pops the ball off for the forward-running midfielders.
"Both are currently among the top five strikers in Europe."
This season, Eintracht Frankfurt's talisman Randal Kolo Muani has directly participated in an impressive 29 goals (15 goals, 14 assists) in 30 games, while Osimhen has 23 goal involvements in 23 matches for Napoli.
