Fastest players Europe's top 5 leagues : Osimhen third behind Dortmund and Chelsea wingers
Published: February 15, 2023Victor Osimhen has been ranked the third fastest player so far in the top five European Leagues consisting of the English Premier League, Spanish La Liga, German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A and French Ligue 1.
The Nigeria international clocked a top speed of 36.61km/h during Napoli's matchday five tie against Lazio on September 3, 2022.
Only Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi (36.65 km/h) and Chelsea's Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk (36.63 km/h) did better than Osimhen in the top 5 European Leagues, according to Transfermarkt.
Mudryk hit the fastest speed recorded in the Premier League this season on his debut against Liverpool on January 21.
Cap-tied Germany international of Nigerian descent Adeyemi became officially the fastest player in Bundesliga history in his side's 5-1 win over Freiburg early in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
Four of the top ten fastest speeds in the Italian Serie A were recorded by Osimhen.
The 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup winner was clocked at 35.88km/h against Inter Milan, 35.45km/h against Salernitana and 34.45km/h also on matchday 19, putting him second, fourth and ninth respectively on the list of speed demons in the Italian topflight this season.
Osimhen has featured in eighteen matches in the Serie A, scoring seventeen goals to top the scoring chart.
