Confirmed team news : Brentford manager reveals Onyeka will miss Bournemouth game
Published: January 14, 2023Speaking at the pre-match press conference before his side's Premier League match against Bournemouth, manager Thomas Frank confirmed that Frank Onyeka is not available for selection.
The Nigeria international has not figured for the Bees since the Premier League restart due to a hamstring issue.
Onyeka missed the Premier League matches with Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Liverpool, plus the FA Cup clash against the Hammers.
Thomas Frank revealed that the Nigerian is expected to spend a few more weeks on the sidelines, meaning he will play no part against the Cherries and will miss the trip to Leeds United on January 22.
Having logged only ten minutes in the first three league games played by the Bees this term, Onyeka was beginning to get a run of games before he got injured as he featured in eleven straight Premier League games, mostly as a substitute.
Providing an update on his squad, Thomas Frank was quoted as saying by Brentford's official website : "[Frank] Onyeka is still a few weeks from potentially being involved in the squad.
"Pontus Jansson is progressing but unfortunately he’s not available yet."
If all goes well, Onyeka should be available to face Southampton on February 4.
