Celtic central defender Jenz reaches career-high market value at N1.9 billion
Published: December 14, 2022Transfer and football statistics website Transfermarkt updated the market values of footballers plying their trade in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday, December 13.
Celtic central defender of Nigerian descent Moritz Jenz has reached the highest market value in his entire career with a valuation of four million euros ( approximately N1.9 billion in Nigerian currency).
The Lorient loanee joined the Scottish Premiership champions in the summer transfer window with an option to buy included in the deal.
Prior to the latest update, Jenz was valued at 2.5 million euros on May 30, 2022, meaning he has gained €1.5 million in the space of six months and his previous highest market value was €3.5 million.
To calculate the market value of players, Transfermarkt factors in the length of contract remaining with the club, age and performances for club and country in different competitions.
Uncapped at international level, Jenz has made nineteen appearances for Celtic since his season-long loan move, eighteen of which he started, and has scored two goals in the league.
The Berlin native is the 14th most expensive player in the Celtic squad, 27th in the Scottish Premiership, and ranks number 185 among all players born in 1999.
