Super Eagles hold first training session pre-Portugal, three players still being expected
Published: November 14, 2022
Manager Jose Pesiero observed at close quarters on Monday evening majority of the players invited for the upcoming friendly against Portugal - the national team's first workout ahead of Thursday's game.
Israeli-based goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo, Leicester City holding midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, Nantes winger Moses Simon and Watford goalie Maduka Okoye are the latest players to report for international duty, bringing the total number of players in camp to twenty.
Ademola Lookman, Oghenekaro Etebo, Tyronne Ebuehi, Calvin Bassey, Paul Onuachu, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Emmanuel Dennis, Joe Aribo and Terem Moffi were among the players spotted during the training session.
Okoye was the last player to link up with the squad on Monday night, thus, did not participate in the training session.
The most notable player missing from camp tonight is Samuel Chukwueze - the standout player in Villarreal's 9-0 hammering of CD Santa Amalia in a Copa del Rey clash on Saturday.
Omonia Nicosia glovesman Francis Uzoho and Cremonese's Cyriel Dessers, who was handed a late invite as a replacement for Victor Osimhen, were the other players still being expected.
