PL 2 : Two Flying Eagles-eligible players help Arsenal overtake Man City in the standings
Published: November 06, 2022Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League 2 table after a 3-1 win over Everton at Meadow Park on Sunday afternoon.
Three Flying Eagles-eligible players were involved in the game. Zach Awe and Nathan Butler-Oyedeji were in action for the young Gunners while Francis Okoronkwo featured for Everton.
Cătălin Cîrjan put the hosts ahead as early as the 6th minute after combining with Brazilian youngster Marquinhos but Everton got back on level terms in the 17th minute through Isaac Price.
In the 28th minute, Mauro Bandeira slotted home the ball to restore Arsenal's lead.
The lead was doubled in the 52nd minute with Marquinhos finding the back of the net.
In the 82nd minute, Nathan Butler-Oyedeji made an entry into the game as a replacement for Khayon Edwards.
Awe has made Arsenal's starting XI in the eleven Premier League 2 games played while Butler-Oyedeji has been involved in every game too with seven as a starter.
In the provisional standings, Mehmet Ali's boys are in first place with 23 points, two points ahead of second placed Manchester City.
