Ndidi makes his comeback from injury as Leicester City beat Iwobi's Everton

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi made his return to action for Leicester from a hamstring injury Saturday evening in the Foxes' 2-0 against Everton that featured Alex Iwobi at the Goodison Park.

Ndidi's international teammate Kelechi Iheanacho sat out the game on the substitutes bench.

The Toffees battled to a goalless draw away at Fulham last weekend while Brendan Rodgers' side fell to a 1-0 defeat to reigning champions Manchester City with Ndidi an unused substitute.

Everton went close to scoring through Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi but his effort went wide while he slipped the ball twice onto the path of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who was denied on both occasions by the Leicester goalkeeper.

Youri Tielemans then put the Foxes ahead in the 45th minute with a wonder strike as he controlled the ball brilliantly before rifling a powerful shot that beat the impressive Jordan Pickford from outside the penalty box.

Ndidi then entered the fray in the 70th minute in place of Boubakary Soumare

Ndidi denied Iwobi what could perhaps be a goal bound shot four minutes before fulltime with a brave block at the edge of the penalty box.

Leicester then doubled their lead a minute later when James Maddison found Harvey Barnes who turned his marker inside out before finding the net.

In added time, Maddison also laid a good pass for Barnes but his low shot was saved by the outstretched leg of Pickford.
