Antony beats Shoretire, 14 others to win Manchester United Goal of the Month

Anglo-Nigerian striker Shola Shoretire has missed out on the monthly accolade, with the Red Devils announcing that Brazilian winger Antony has clinched the Goal of the Month award with 35 percent of the vote.
The England U19 international did not make the top three. Casemiro's last-gasp header against Chelsea finished as runner-up with 31 percent of the vote while Marcus Rashford finished third on fifteen percent.
The other twelve players nominated for the monthly prize included Cristiano Ronaldo, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Dalot. Ethan Williams, Nikita Parris, Alejandro Garnacho, Vilde Bøe Risa, Hayley Ladd, Adam Berry and Marc Jurado.
Shoretire was shortlisted for his brilliant goal against League One side Fleetwood Town in the Papa Johns Trophy.
The 18-year-old is in the running to win the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October 2022.
He trained with Manchester United's first team at Ciudad Deportiva Jose Luis Companon, the training ground of Spanish second-division side Deportivo Alaves on Friday afternoon, ahead of the Premier League clash against Aston Villa.
