Arsenal's England star of Nigerian descent undergoes scan, injury not as bad as initially feared 

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Arsenal are hopeful Bukayo Saka has not suffered a long-term injury that would keep him out of the 2022 World Cup. 

 

Many England and Arsenal fans had their hearts in their mouth after he was replaced twenty-seven minutes into the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon. 

 

As early as the first minute, the Hale End Academy graduate was on the wrong end of a kick by Nottingham Forest defender  Renan Lodi and didn't look comfortable before he was replaced. 

 

Saka underwent a scan on Monday and initial reports suggest that the ankle injury is not as bad as first feared. 

 

Regarding a new contract, the plan is for the winger to make a final decision before the start of the 2022 World Cup. 

 

The Gunners have offered Saka higher wages to reflect his status as a key player at the club. 

 

The 21-year-old has played nonstop at the Emirates Stadium since the age of seven.
