EFL wrap : 2011 Nigeria U20 invitee Ladapo nets brace, Adebisi opens season account for Crewe
Published: October 25, 2022Allnigeriasoccer.com's round-up of the players of Nigerian descent on target for their respective clubs in English Football League matches on Tuesday, October 25.
In the League One, Ipswich Town took all three points back to Suffolk after beating Port Vale 3-2 in a five-goal thriller at Vale Park.
2011 Flying Eagles invitee Freddie Ladapo opened and closed the scoring to take his tally for the season to six goals in all competitions.
Ladapo broke the deadlock when he slid in a cross by Davis in the 34th minute and tapped in for what proved to be the game winning goal five minutes into the second half.
In the League Two, there was a goal to report and it came from an unlikely source as fullback Rio Adebisi opened his account for the season in Crewe Alexandra's 1-1 draw with AFC Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium in London.
Adebisi rescued a point when he flicked in a header at minute 62, with former Chelsea youth teamer Tariq Uwakwe involved in the build-up to the equaliser
The home team nearly won the game in the 77th minute but Arsenal loanee Arthur Okonkwo made a second penalty save in four days.
