MLS Nigerian player salaries : Ex-Flying Eagles star is highest paid at N449m per year

The Major League Soccer Players Association have updated their list of 2022 player salaries in the American topflight, under contract as of September 2nd, 2022.
Player salaries are broken down into two numbers: current annualized base salary and annualized average guaranteed compensation.
Of the twelve Nigeria-eligible players listed, former Nigeria U20 international Obinna Nwobodo claimed the title of highest-paid player of Nigerian descent in Major League Soccer, with guaranteed salaries (including bonuses) of $1,028,100.00 (approximately N449 million in Nigerian currency).
In American terms, the FC Cincinnati defensive midfielder is the only millionaire on the list, with the second top earning Nigerian, James Igbekeme of Columbus Crew pocketing $408,281.00 every year.
Nigeria national teamer Sunusi Ibrahim earns $291,250.00 per year and is third best paid Nigerian player, ahead of LAFC's Sebastien Ibeagha ($252,125.00) and Sporting Kansas City's William Agada ($246,875.00) in that order.
