Italian Serie A : Osimhen, Dessers score for second game running; Zirkzee nets on full debut

Three other Nigerian strikers were on target in the Italian Serie A on Sunday corresponding to the tenth round of matches, following in the footsteps of Ademola Lookman who netted the game-winning goal in Atalanta's 2-1 win over Sassuolo yesterday.

At the Stadio Alberto Picco, Cremonese played out a 2-2 draw with Spezia, with Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers getting on the scoresheet for the second game running.

Having opened his account in the penultimate round of matches, Dessers gave Cremonese a dream start when he tapped into the net from very close range in the second minute after the Spezia players failed to pick Luka Lochoshvili at the back post following a corner.

Two goals in three minutes put Spezia 2-1 ahead before Charles Pickel headed in the equaliser at minute 52.

In the second half, former Nigeria U23 international David Okereke and Dessers had sniffs at goal but failed to get their shots away.

Elsewhere, at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, Victor Osimhen followed up his strike against Ajax Amsterdam in the UEFA Champions League with the match winner in Napoli's hard fought 3-2 victory over a stubborn Bologna side.

On his full Serie A debut, former Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee opened his goalscoring account for Bologna with a beautiful one-time finish after an excellent build-up play.

Juan Jesus and Hirving Lozano scored to put Napoli's noses in front after 48 minutes, only for Musa Barrow to bring the game back to parity in the 51st minute.

On as a substitute at halftime, Osimhen gave Napoli back the lead when he made a run inside the box and finished with his weaker left foot after combining with Kvaratskhelia midway through the second half.

With the win, Napoli returned to the top of the Serie A table having accumulated 26 points, two more than second-placed Atalanta,
