Aston Villa 0 Chelsea 2 : Chukwuemeka non-playing substitute on return to Villa Park
Published: October 16, 2022Carney Chukwuemeka's return to Villa Park after his summer transfer to Chelsea FC ended in a win.
The Anglo-Nigerian youngster was an unused substitute in Chelsea's 2-0 away win over Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
Mason Mount's double was enough to extend Chelsea's unbeaten run under the leadership of Graham Potter.
Chelsea raced into an early lead in the 6th minute courtesy of a sublime finish from Mount.
Villa heaped pressure on the Blues after conceding but couldn't find the back of the net due to goalkeeping heroics from Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Once again Mount was influential for the West London based club, sealing Chelsea's sixth league win of the season with a 65th minute cracker.
Chukwuemeka has been included in four Premier League matchday squads this season.
The England youth international made his Chelsea debut last weekend, after joining from Aston Villa in August 2022.
In the provisional standings, Graham Potter's men are seated in fourth place with 19 points from nine games while Aston Villa are in 16th place with nine points from 10 games.
Chelsea's next outing is a match against Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium on Wednesday, 19th of October 2022.
