Chelsea old boy Moses, Arsenal legend Kanu pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
Published: September 08, 2022Chelsea old boy Victor Moses and Arsenal legend Nwankwo Kanu have taken to social media to pay tribute to the longest-reigning monarch in British history Queen Elizabeth II, who died in Scotland on Thursday at the age of 96.
According to The Telegraph UK, Britain's entire sporting schedule is being suspended on Friday as national mourning begins after the death of the Queen.
Nathan Tella's Burnley were due to host Norwich City in the Championship and Stockport County were scheduled to face Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park in the League Two but the two games have been postponed.
Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United who were in European action on Thursday observed a minute's silence in honour of Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty visited Nigeria twice, in 1956 and in December 2003 to open the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Abuja.
Paying homage to the Queen, Victor Moses posted on Twitter : "RIP Her Majesty The Queen The end of an era".
