Arsenal's Rwandan-born winger training with Norwegian club ahead of possible move
Published: August 27, 2022Arsenal's Rwandan-born winger George Lewis is training with Norwegian club Sandefjord Football ahead of a possible move.
Espen Bugge Pettersen, Sandefjord Football's general manager, has told Sandefjords Blad that the Norwegian-Rwandan player has some of the qualities that the club is looking for.
Lewis spent the formative years of his career with the youth teams of Stakkevollan IF, Tromsdalen and Tromsø.
The 22-year-old joined Arsenal in August 2020 from Norwegian fourth-tier club Fram Larvik.
He is not age-eligible to be included on Arsenal's Premier League 2, Premier League and Europa League rosters as an U21 player, which puts his future at the Emirates Stadium in doubt.
Since his arrival at the Gunners, Lewis has appeared in thirteen matches for Arsenal's development squad, scoring one goal.
Lewis has yet to make his first-team debut for Arsenal but has been invited to train with the senior side and took part in a friendly against MK Dons two years ago.
