Official : Chelsea recall Nigeria-eligible striker from loan spell
Published: August 26, 2022With a statement on their official website, English Premier League giants Chelsea have announced that Nigeria-eligible centre-forward Bryan Fiabema has been recalled from his loan spell at Rosenborg BK.
The initial agreement between Chelsea and Rosenborg would have kept the Norwegian-Nigerian teenager at Troillongan until the end of the Norwegian season in November 2022.
An option to buy was also included in the deal taking Fiabema to Rosenborg in March 2022.
According to TV 2, the Chelsea-owned striker is still in Trondheim, and he is scheduled to train as normal with the rest of the Rosenborg team today.
The 19-year-old ended the 2021-2022 season as Chelsea's development squad top scorer with eight goals in all competitions, comprising four in the Premier League 2, three in the UEFA Youth League and one in the EFL Trophy.
In eleven outings for RBK in the Eliteserien, he found the net once and also got on the scoresheet in a Norwegian Cup clash against Levanger FK.
Fiabema was the youngest player of Nigerian descent to feature in the Norwegian topflight when he made his senior debut on July 14, 2019 wearing the colours of Tromso before the record was surpassed by Antonio Nusa in May 2021.
