Official : Yaya Toure to coach three Golden Eaglets-eligible players at Tottenham U16s
Published: August 13, 2022African and Manchester City legend Yaya Toure has taken up the role of Tottenham Hotspur U16 coach, the official webpage of the north London club informed on Friday, August 12.
This is his first job in English football after previously working as assistant manager at Olimpik Donetsk and Akhmat Grozny.
Toure had an initial spell working with Tottenham Hotspur Academy staff in the second half of the 2021-2022 campaign.
In a glittering career, the former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder won the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League, FA Cup and Football League Cup, and was an African champion with Ivory Coast in 2015.
Toure will be coaching three Golden Eaglets-eligible players at the Tottenham Hotspur U16s this season.
The players are centre-forward Justin Oguntolu, central defender Timi Adekunle and exciting right-back Miracle Adewole.
In Toure's first game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur U16s, he handed game time to the three players of Nigerian descent as they defeated Leicester City 6-4 on Saturday.
